Promises kept

When I first made the commitment to write a series I said, "not unless I can publish no less than two books a year." As an avid series reader I hate waiting an entire year to see the next saga or book in series. By that time I usually have to go back and read the previous books to remember what is going on and who is who.  Keeping true to my promise, I'm happy to announce that the third book in Sekhmet's Guardians will be released November 1st. The fourth book in the series, which happens to be the first historical, Eternal Tuat will be released early in 2014, followed by the next two.
Writing, editing and publishing three BIG books a year hasn't been easy, but if it will keep my readers happy then I'm happy to put in the long hours.

Back cover blurb (yes I know it's long but well worth it)

Tshering Snow never meant to fall hopelessly in love with her savior, the Ancient, known as Lance, but she did. He seems to care deeply for her, spending every available hour with her, but will he be able to give up his past and settle down with one woman?  After all, he has the reputation of a playboy.
Lance hates the personification he has created around himself. Afraid the others might not understand why; he has held back the truth from Gabriel and the other Guardians, he has waited for the right woman, the one Sekhmet prophesized so long ago. And now he has found her. When he is accused of fathering a child by both Gabriel and Tshering, how can he make them believe the child is not his, even if the boy is a spitting imagine of him?
After the women are attacked by Set’s Legions while relaxing on Jennifer’s new yacht, they come to the unanimous decision; they will train and join the Guardian forces. But that’s not as easy as it was meant to be. Old fashioned and hard headed, Gabriel is determined he will not having women fighting in their war.
When Tshering, Jennifer and Jessica are taken hostage by Set’s Legions all hell breaks loose on the Guardian’s compound. Lost without their mates, brother fights brother while they try save their women and put an end to the Legion’s terror. Will Sekhmet, the goddess they serve, step in and reveal the truth or will she leave them to find their own solutions to a never ending war as she has in the past?

SNIPPETS:

(1)As soon as Johnson left, Lance did what he did every morning. He reached for his keyboard and pulled up Tshering’s favorite stump on one of his large screen monitors and waited for her to arrive. He'd told her the place was secured with cameras, but he was pretty sure she didn’t see the one he hid in the tree giving him a perfect view of her as she undressed every morning before she met up with Jennifer.
He knew she jogged every morning before meeting up with Jen so he placed a small tracking devise inside the headband she wore to keep her hair in place so he could keep tabs on her. He tracked her alright—right to the stump hidden within a grove of oak trees. Funny thing was, the tracking devise didn’t move for over forty five minutes. Knowing something wasn’t right, he immediately upon inspecting the location placed an additional camera aimed straight at the stump. He suspected what she was up to and wanted to see for himself. Sure enough the next morning he got a birds-eye-view of her naked body and her true self.
(2) Lance poured the two of them a drink from the small bar in Tshering’s room while she attempted to explain what the women decided to do.
“Never going to happen…You don’t know my brother like I do… He’s old fashioned to say the least. He believes a woman’s place… well, you get the idea.”
“I wouldn’t be so sure about that… Jennifer’s mind was pretty made up.”
“I’m telling you, Gabriel will never allow women on the fighting force.”  Lance handed her a drink.
“I don’t think she is really going to ask him that… I think she is going to ask permission for all of us to train with the recruits… you know, in your martial arts and weapon’s classes.”
“Um-hum and when she does, Gabriel will read right through her plan. He knows how sneaky she can be, especially when she wants something… Look, if it will make you happy, I’m more than willing to take you down to the firing range and show you some of the martial arts stuff myself.”
“You would, really?” She asked, batting her long lashes as she snuggled closer to him, draping her arms around his neck, pulling him tight into her body, where he could feel her breasts as they talked.
“Um –hum,” he mumbled. His lips descended onto her neck. “Anything you want, baby. Anything to make you happy.”

(3) Standing in single file formation they waited as the dark haired soldier with the Boston accent shuffled around in the back of the small room for their uniforms. From where they were standing the room didn’t appear any larger than a utility closet. He arrived a few minutes later with eight canary yellow duffle bags for the women to put their things in.
You’ve got to be kidding me. “Couldn’t we have black like the other recruits?” Asked Jennifer.
“Sorry, all out… these were special ordered, express delivery and all that.”
Yeah, right… “Thank you.” She forced a smile, as she picked up the eight bags and handed them to the women.
The soldier turned around, grumbled something under his breath as he went about his duty gathering the books they needed.
Returning with eight three-inch thick books on firearms, eight more on martial arts, eight on explosives, the soldier passed them to Jennifer to pass out before he returned to gather seven more sets of books -- all equal in thickness  Ok, this is a bit much.
Biting her tongue, she passed the monstrosities to each of the ladies who placed them into their canary yellow bag.
“There’s a reading schedule for each of the classes inside the books. You might want to have a look at it before too long,” said the clerk just before he disappeared behind the rows of equipment in the room.
“I’m afraid you are going to have to make do with what we have on hand. Most of our recruits are a bit larger than you ladies… I’m sure you understand,” he said as he passed two sets of XXXL sweats, fatigues and a pair of combat boots to each of the ladies.
Well, at least they weren’t yellow. No, they were the ugliest shade of piss green Jennifer had ever seen. Still she kept her mouth shut not wanting to make waves… it was when he returned with the one piece… she wasn’t even sure what it was he handed her…it looked like a bathing suit from the 1920’s in Pepto Bismol pink.
“Wait a minute is this some kind of joke? You don’t actually think we are going to wear this?” she exclaimed as she held the latex looking, neck-to-the-knees, long one piece swim suit up to him.
“If you want to take my class you will,” said her father, stepping out from his hiding place behind one of the racks in the back of the room with his face as stern as a steel sculpture.
